From July 16 to September 27, Cortona becomes the European capital of photography: Cortona On The Move – fotografia in viaggio, international photography festival now in its fifth edition is coming closer! The event will bring n Tuscany the biggest professionals of photography: events, portfolio reviews, workshops of national and international photo editor. A calendar full of activities, aimed to professionals but also to emerging photographers, for whom the event is a showcase irreplaceable in terms of visibility and potential for professional growth. This year the Festival, organized by ONTHEMOVE cultural Association, looks like a path that guides visitors through the exhibition venues located in the historic center of Cortona, in search of stories, travel, innovation and experimentation. Among the works of this year highlight Maybe Phillip Toledano, Japan James Whitlow Delano, La Ville Noire John Troilo, the retrospective of Mario Giacomelli. A Focus on Russia by Andrei Polikanov

At the inaugural press conference of Festival Cortona on the Move – fotografia in viaggio, on June 11 at Spazio Leica Store in Milan, was also presented the International Award of Photography HAPPINNESS ON THE MOVE organized by the Festival and Consorzio Vino Chianti, partners since last year of this important initiative that tells people and places all over the world through the lens of photographers. HAPPINESS ON THE MOVE is a contemporary look and cross the world, in perfect style #chianticool.

The selections of the 2015 Prize HAPPINNESS ON THE MOVE ended on May 31, while the award ceremony is scheduled for next July 18, during the first week of the Festival: at 10:30 pm at the Corte of Palazzo Casali in Cortona, in the presence of Giovanni Busi (President of the Consorzio Vino Chianti), Antonio Carloni (Festival Cortona ON THE MOVE Director) and Arianna Rinaldo (Artistic Director of the Festival Cortona ON THE MOVE) will be awarded the prize to the photographer koreran Daesung Lee, who won the 2015 edition of the International Prize Happiness on The Move with Futuristic Archaeology, work dedicated to desertification in Mongolia, which will be produced and exhibited in the 2016 edition of Cortona on The Move. In the opening days of the festival it will be inaugurated Ich bin Waldviertel, exhibition dedicated to the project of the Dutch photographer Carla Kogelmann, winner of the 2014 edition of the Award.
