Ficomontanino is set in the heart of the hills in the eastern part of the province of Siena, in the Municipality of Chiusi.
In the 70s Ruggero Giannelli bought an estate in Chiusi and just for passion started to produce his wine.
In time he acquired more vineyards and improved the facilities of the cellar creating a modern winery. Five years ago, his son Alessandro started a complete reorganisation of the family winery, investing in new technologies and producing new labels, new names.
The first inspiration is the young spirit of Maria Sole, Alessandro’s daughter, the last generation of the family who has joined this project.
From the oldest vine, that is now 40 years old, the winery produces its Chianti Riserva “Terre del Fico”. “Lucumone del Fico” is instead a supertuscan: a bordolese blend, refined24 months in French barrique, that reveals a wellbalanced and rich texture.
Last but not least, the winery proposes a Sangiovese in purity “Fico Puro”, the wine that represents Ficomontanino’s philosophy and territory.
