The Usiglian del Vescovo agricultural estate produces wine and oil of the highest quality, which are the result of an important reclassification of the area dedicated to the production of wine and of the methods of wine making. The estate has a vineyard of 20 hectares with the main varieties of vines being Sangiovese,
Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay and Viognier and also 15 hectares of olive trees. Nature, tradition and up to date technologies are all combined in this enchanting landscape: a suitable micro-climate and a unique soil rich in marine fossils and containing a very high percentage of sand with the entire area characterized by gentle hills and steeper slopes; a cellar for ageing located in the original medieval castle where small and large barrels are kept at an ideal temperature and humidity; a new cellar with areas for winemaking, storing and ageing in bottles at a controlled temperature.
